Covington, April 26 – Washington Newkirk, 87, retired farmer, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill where he had been a patient 11 days. His death was due to pneumonia and shock, resulting from a broen arm suffered while trimming a tree April 14. Survivors are two daughter and a son, Mrs. David Moudy, south of Covington with whom he lived and Mrs. Felt Holt and Freeman Newkirk, Covington. – kbz
